Donald S. Uderitz is co-founder of Vantage Capital Group, LLC and Vantage Advisors and serves as Chairman and Chief Investment Officer.
Prior to forming Vantage, Mr. Uderitz held various senior level positions during his 18 year investment career. Early in his career, he held various positions with the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation and Ocwen Financial Corporation primarily focused on various structuring and trading strategies in mortgages and mortgage derivatives.
Later in his career, Mr. Uderitz was a general partner and co-head of mortgage trading for the III Global Funds (“III”) as well as a general partner in Adams, Viner and Mosler, Ltd. (“AVM”), a registered broker dealer. III is a fixed income hedge fund that had in excess of $3.5 billion of capital during that period.
In 1999, Mr. Uderitz co-founded the Tequesta Funds, which grew to a $400 million fixed income hedge fund mainly focused in mortgages, agency and sovereign debt, as well as Alpha Strategic Management, the related registered broker dealer.
Mr. Uderitz retired for a brief period, returning in 2003 to take advantage of an opportunistic investment he identified in the mortgage residual market. He directed this program on behalf of Wachovia Securities, resulting in significant arbitrage profits and Wachovia’s dominant market presence. As a result of his nearly 20 years of trading mortgage residuals, Mr. Uderitz is considered by many to be one of the country’s foremost authorities on these securities.
Mr. Uderitz received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with Honors from the State University of New York (1988) and an MBA from The College of William and Mary (1991).
